Allison Malec is a Marketing Manager at Clarkson Potter, a division of Random House, and is an editor at The Recipe Club. She lives in New York City, and loves to cook, bake and eat. She loves anything sweet, especially Momofuku Milk Bar’s Compost Cookies, Ben and Jerry’s Oatmeal Cookie Crunch Ice Cream, and Vanilla Mr. Softee cones with rainbow sprinkles.

Dawn Casale and David Crofton, the owners of the beloved bakery, One Girl Cookies, in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, celebrated their new store opening in DUMBO, Brooklyn, and the launch of their debut cookbook, One Girl Cookies (Clarkson Potter, January 2012), with a Pie Social. What better way to celebrate than with pie?

As to be expected, their pie did not disappoint. They served four magnificent, creative pies, (Rosemary & Pear, Pumpkin, New York State Maple Pecan, and Apricot, Honey and Pistachio) along with Maple Mascarpone whipped cream and Cinnamon whipped cream. If I had to pick a winner, I think it would be the Apricot, Honey and Pistachio, but they were all so delicious, it would be difficult to choose just one.

It was great to share in our authors’ celebration of their cookbook and new store opening. We will all be trying to recreate those amazing pies at home!
GIVEAWAY: One lucky winner will receive a copy of One Girl Cookies! Simply comment on this post to be entered to win. A winner will be chosen on 2/24/2012.
