Why do I love Giada?
Because she taught me how to cook with confidence. I remember watching her very first show on Food Network, never realizing that she too was nervous about what she was doing in front of the camera. My husband came to an italian meal that evening, and when he tasted it he asked the following question “Did you order this from a restaurant?” … my answer: “No Giada gave me the recipe.” And so, it doesn’t matter if I win the book or blender, I’ve already won. I’m thankful to her for changing the way I see the kitchen and most importantly for allowing me to give my children fond memories of the meals their mother made for them! I’m forever Grateful!!! I love Giada’s recipes. How they are so simple and very delicious. I remember her making Linguine and Clam Sauce one day and although at the time I didn’t like anchovies (I love them now!), I made it and it was a big hit in the house! She taught me confidence in the kitchen. She loves to cook for others and it really shows. She is down to earth and very upbeat all the time. Would love to meet her in person one day.
When I got my first “real” job out of college, I moved far away from everyone I knew. Loneliness, and being tired of fast food, led me to the Food Network and Giada. I spent all my free time watching her shows, and following her recipes. Now, I’m known as the “chef” in my family, and among my friends. I owe it all to Giada.

I love Giada because she makes cooking so easy and fun! I love her style and everything she makes is delicious! I never cooked until I moved away to college. I never thought I would be good at it until I started watching Giada. Once I gave it a try, I actually fell in love and now cooking is one of my passions. Giada shows us that the everyday woman can cook and have fun while still being healthy.

I think the biggest reason I love Giada is how she has handled the media. It’s not easy being a celebrity and when accusations came from the media, she handled them with grace! That’s not easy to do while still keeping up her reputation.

I’ve been watching Giada since I saw her show Everyday Italian a number of years back. I loved how she has never forgotten where she’s come from but has also managed to embrace the United States. The results have been some wonderfully unique recipes. Also, as someone who was not born in the United States but has lived here most of my own life I can certainly appreciate this. I love her dishes because they has a light, crisp quality to them. I have never had the pleasure of meeting her but I feel like her personality shines through in her performances as well as her dishes.
I love watching Giada cook. She is funny, down-to-earth, has wonderful tips, and the food looks mouth-wateringly delicious! I have tried some of the recipes, and they are quick and easy too – no pretentious chef-stuff here. I love Giada because I feel like I’ve gone to a professional cooking school journey with her. At first she was a bit shy on Everyday Italian, as I was with my cooking. Can we say Kraft Mac and Cheese :0/.
Her Italian dishes were simple without a ton of ingredients which were easy for me to master. After all these years she has expanded her repertoire to include so many different foods, desserts,ethnic, American, etc. Yet, they are till simple to make.
I have so much more confidence in my cooking skills because of Giada. She has shared her journey with us, and I have shared mine with family by cooking them delicious meals. Now my kids are in their 20s and I see that they are developing the art of cooking and it makes me so proud.

Ah, Giada… Her recipes are healthy, tasty and easy to follow — and her techniques are such that even us guys, many of us who are all thumbs in the kitchen, can feel like we’ve accomplished something that’s turned out delicious — even if it’s only Giada’s Mac and Cheese recipe.

I remember the moment I knew Giada was my favorite. It was the episode where she made the spinach loaf with the egg in the middle with her Aunt Rafi. The reason that I love that episode, and Giada in turn, wasn’t because of those recipes on that show, but it was because of who that show was dedicated to: her Nonna Luna. There was a specific line on the show as well and she said, “When my Nonna told us to look at the moon, she said to think of her and when we see the moon, she will always be with us.” I started bawling. I’m was close to my Nana, just like Giada was and cooked like my Nana just like Giada does with her recipes. At that moment, I knew Giada was my favorite and will always be because I can relate to her the most. Of course her food is amazing. There is no doubt, but I had that one teary-eyed moment, when I knew that watching Giada and learning to cook from her would mean more than just learning to cook from someone famous; it would mean learning to cook from someone who is maybe a little more like me.
Oh my goodness. Giada rocks. I love to watch her shows. She explains this so clearly and I dont feel I have to be a professional. I have made about a dozen of her recipes so far. I want to win this cook book so I can clear my DVR!

I love Giada b/c she makes recipes that bring forward memories of my childhood. Both sets of my grandparents were Italian immigrants along with my father. Food was a universal language for them coming to America. They put their heart and soul into their cooking and passed along this passion to generations. Every time I am watching one of Giada’s shows it conjures some memories from my past and my grandparents who are no longer with us. These memories I then convey to my children so that they can carry the memories and tales forward.
Watching Giada prepare one of her dishes is always a delight. I was able to see her in person at the Fabulous Food Show in Cleveland, Ohio, some time ago, and she was just so gracious.

To be honest, I didn’t love Giada when I first saw her show. Not even the second time I saw it. No, my love for Giada didn’t come until recently, after watching her shine on The Next Food Network Star. I watched every week and saw how she was with her group of chefs. That’s when I saw her beyond the TV show host which, while engaging, felt a bit artificial. On the NFNS, she was warm, honest, engergenic, charming, tough, loving, and one hell of a good teacher. I felt like I was seeing her for the first time and I began to appreciate her. By the end of NFNS, it was love, and she was tied as one of my favorite Food Network Chefs. The next time I watched her show, I could see beyond my original impression and enjoyed the show. And, let’s face it, her recipes are amazing and homey. A quality I can’t wait to serve my growing family!

I’m the cook at my firehouse. I really love Giada because of her great recipes. So many of them are easy and quick to make which comes in handy while trying to prepare meals in a busy firehouse. And they taste fantastic which keeps me out of hot water with the guys when we sit around the Beanery table to eat what I’ve cooked.

I have enjoyed watching Giada for several years now. She seems so kind, sweet, and authentic. The main reason I love to watch her on foodnetwork is because of my 6 year-old daughter Hayden. I love love love coming home from work and watching the Giada At Home episodes that I recorded during the day! Giada is very family oriented and thats one of the main reasons I am drawn to her. When my grandmother was on Hospice I was able to take a year off of work and help her cook and clean for my Grandfather. I made sure that everyday I was done by 3pm EST to watch 2 Episodes of Giada at home in bed with my grandmother. She would always have me write down the recipes while we watched on the back of an envelope. I now have a collection of the recipes she wanted me to write down for her. I have learned so much from watching Giada and cooking with my Grandmother. Now that she is no longer with us I think of her everyday when I watch it and never miss an episode. I will never forget the year I was able to spend with her and the recipes we shared through Giada! Thank you!

Giada’s recipes are simple and tasty and good for you! I’ve yet to make a Giada recipe from her first book of Italian recipes that I did not like. Her lemon ricotta cookies are a staple every spring/summer. Light, airy, delicious! She has such a great personality for television, very welcoming and anyone who shares their love for their heritage and makes it accessible to those with families and who work and may even be hesitant to step into the kitchen is a great asset because you get to indulge in new recipes and realize how you don’t have to be fearful of the kitchen and what tasty things you can make. Who knew I could make my own bolognese? Who?!?

Cooking and gathering around the table is an ingrained part of my life. My sister, brothers and I all cook and each of our families all enjoy this tradition. My son loves to cook but it was Giada and her cookbooks that got my daughter into the kitchen. I love Giada with her infectious smile, enthusiasim, and wonderful recipes but also because she led my daughter to realize that cooking is not a chore but a joy.

I have been watching Giada with my girlfriend for a while now and it tends to be the last thing we do before bed. It’s inspirational to sit there and watch Giada make some of her dishes look so easy and sound so good. We’ve made a lot of the items on her show and we’ve both fallen in love with cooking and trying new recipes. It’s made is both so inspired we’ve gone out and updated all of our kitchen supplies just so we can try to make good half as good as how Giada makes it look!

What’s not to love about Giada? I, too, have a little bit of a background in pastry and in kitchens. I always enjoy watching her show as she makes some of the most complicated looking dishes simple. Having her book would make it even easier to try these dishes. Italian is a big staple in our house and having this resource would allow us to vary our meals. And getting one of her processors would be really great! Whomever gets this prize is one lucky individual. I can only hope it’s me.

I love Giada because when my son (now 7) was little we would watch her together. No matter what he was doing, he would stop his playing, sit down and say, “Giaaaada.” (He was between 18 months and 2 years old then). One night he woke up crying inconsolably. When I asked what he wanted, he cried, “Giada!” So I got my Everyday Italian cookbook, we sat in the rocker and looked at her pictures. At each one he’d smile and say “Giada” with a contented sigh. When I went to put him back in his crib he said “book.” And for the next week, he slept with the cookbook.
And I also love her recipes.
