I don’t know any female who hasn’t, at one time or another, wanted a princess-themed birthday party–which is how I found myself throwing said party for my roommate. And, as any self-respecting princess would, she demanded home-baked birthday goodies. So I turned to Martha Stewart’s Cupcakes to help me find an easy but delicious chocolate cupcake recipe.

I live in New York City, but I’m from Utah, and so is my boyfriend. Except, I grew up in a big city whereas he . . . didn’t. He grew up with pickup trucks and hunting and I . . . didn’t. So when he said that he was traveling to South Dakota to hunt pheasant, it didn’t register strongly on my radar. It simply meant I would have a few more girls’ nights that week.

Onion Rings from Bobby Flay’s Burgers, Fries and Shakes

Whenever I have the choice between onion rings and fries, I order half and half. I love them both, can’t get enough! Which is why I was ecstatic about Bobby Flay’s Burgers, Fries and Shakes cookbook: it has recipes for fries and onion rings. I haven’t tried any of the fries yet, but the recipe for Buttermilk Onion Rings has hooked me.
